DPH Removals News December 2021 saw an extremely busy end to the year for us all.
The strength of the housing market and the price of properties in our area meant we found ourselves working in areas such as Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire and Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, as well as other places in the south of the UK, as people are making the most of lower house prices and the open space and fresh air that Lincolnshire has to offer.
Removals To Scotland
We also carried out house removals to other parts of the UK and on a couple of occasions we managed to utilise our lorry and trailer to combine two moves from Lincolnshire to the Dundee area in Scotland with a small vehicle following behind, with all the beds and overnight essentials for the customers to make a comfortable evening for them whilst waiting for the rest of their furniture to arrive.
Moving To France from UK
The middle of the December brought about our second move to France since Brexit with a large move to the Dordogne region for a local couple from Swineshead in Lincolnshire, who wanted to fulfil their dream and move to a foreign climate. The move went very well despite the added paperwork now required for buying property abroad.
Helping With Moving Costs
With so much going on in December, our estimator Deborah continued tirelessly to look at new work and provide lots of quotations for prospective new customers going into 2022.
This last year has also seen a few fleet replacements for us including a couple of new vans and a replacement trailer in order for us to keep up with new Euro standards being set by some major cities for cleaner air zones.
This will enable us to continue working in these areas without incurring extra costs, therefore helping with moving costs, by ensuring our prices remain ultra competitive for home and office relocations.
Plus with refurbishments that were needed for these additional fleet vehicles such as resprays, van livery etc, being carried out in-house, this has helped keep our costs down, as well as keeping our Yardman busy for a few months.
House Moving Services
The house selling process is not without its ups and downs and cancellations are postponements are a regular occurrence in our office, keeping Debbie, our office manager, extremely busy in-between carrying out her other roles as accounts manager and receptionist.
Some days for her can be extremely frustrating as she has to deal with clients who have had problems with the legalities of their moves and need to re-book their removals.
This results in a diary shuffle and endless phone calls to other customers to try and make the timescales fit for everyone. But this is all part of the service at DPH Removals, to ensure we are able to meet the demands of our customers and ensure everyone is happy.
Self Storage
Demand in Self Storage remains strong and some new containers have been purchased this month to enable us to keep up with demand and accommodate our customers needs.
Long Distance Moving Companies
Bookings are already looking busy into January 2022 with full removals and people wanting their belongings returning from storage.
Destinations planned include Manchester, Glasgow, Oswestry in Shropshire and St Austell in Cornwall.
With so much going on in December and so much to look forward to in 2022, we closed the doors on Christmas Eve and planned to reopen on the 4th of January, with all the staff looking forward to a few days break after an eventful year.
