FAQs

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of Lincolnshire and all of the UK.  We also particularly specialise in removals to Ireland, France and Spain.

But we cover all of Europe and have moved people as far as Bulgaria. We also provide moves back to the UK from Europe.

Where are you based?

We are based in the the village of Kirton, which is south of the market town of Boston in Lincolnshire.

We have close proximity to the main A16 trunk road which gives us great access to the A17.  Which runs into Norfolk, the A1 at Peterborough, the A52 towards Nottingham, the A16 towards the Humber region and the M62.

What are your opening hours?

Our office opening hours are:

Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Except Bank Holidays.

Can you store my items until I am ready to move?

Yes we can.

Our sister company Manor Road Storage, caters for temporary storage, as well as long term storage.

With secure wooden storage units housed in a large secure warehouse, your items will be kept safe and dry.

We also have large metal storage containers, which can accommodate the contents of a typical three-bedroom house.

Our ‘demountable’ storage containers which typically hold the contents of a four-bedroom house, can be delivered and loaded at your property.  They are then stored in our secure warehouse.  Where they remain untouched until re-delivery or moving day.

Do you provide a packing service?

Yes we do.

Our team can pack the entire contents of your house, to help you manage your time more effectively.

A full packing service is mostly done prior to the removal day.

We also offer an unpacking service where we unpack all of the boxes within an allocated room.  And then remove all the boxes and materials used.

If you would like any further information on our packing service then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Can you supply boxes and packaging materials for us?

Yes we can.  If you want to do your own packing, we offer, from stock, a wide range of house packaging materials,

Including boxes and sundries to help you pack your goods safely.

To keep our prices as low as possible, we stock a range of ‘once used’ recycled boxes.

These have been used in the commercial industry. They are strong and clean and of a high quality.

Brand new boxes can also be ordered at customer request.

Garment carriers can be loaned out free of charge on the day of removal if we do your removals for you.  Or they can be purchased separately.

We also stock sofa, chair and mattress covers and paper blankets.

We have some ‘unusual’ items to move. Is this a problem?

Not at all.

We can move any item and in the past we have moved things like tractors, agricultural equipment, hot tubs, large safes, ship anchors, vintage motorcycles and cars, to name but a few.

So whatever ‘unusual’ item you may have, we can help.

We have some valuable antiques and a large grand piano. Can you move these?

Yes we most definitely can.

For antique or precious heirlooms, we ensure these are given extra special treatment to prevent any form of damage.

We have moved large grand pianos in the past and all of our staff are fully trained to take extra special care of these types of items.

We realise that some of these items have great sentimental value and are irreplaceable.  It is therefore imperative that these items are correctly packaged and marked up as being antiques or special items.

Of course everything we pack, is properly packaged and taken great care of.

But if you choose to pack antiques or items of sentimental value yourselves, we can advise on the best way of doing this.

Or maybe for these items, it would prudent to use our ‘part-packing’ service, as this service can be tailored to suit your exact needs.

Do you provide insurance for removals?

Yes we do.

Depending on your property size, the value of your items and any specialist items such as high-value antiques, etc. we can provide the right level of insurance that you will need.

Please get in touch with us for more specific information or questions you may have.

Are your staff fully trained?

Absolutely.  All of our removal staff have undertaken all of the appropriate courses and go on refresher courses.

All of our removal staff are trained to treat your items in the same manner as if they were their own items.

This ensures your complete confidence and satisfaction that your removal experience is in the very best hands through the whole process.

Are you members of any removals associations?

Yes we are.

We are proud to be members of the Association of Independent Movers (AIM)

This gives you complete piece of mind that you will be using a safe, trustworthy and legally compliant removal company,

Wwith the additional back up of an independent complaint handling service in the unlikely event something goes wrong.

AIM members are also checked on a yearly basis with random checks imposed throughout the year to ensure the highest levels of service are maintained at all times.

Can you move garden plants and containers?

Yes we can.

Normally we will put them at the back of the lorry.  But in some instances we will build a shelf to put them on,

Enabling us to stack them neatly in the lorry and stop them moving about, thus protecting the plants and your other items.

If it is a local move, we will mostly put them all in the back of one of our smaller vans and bring them separately to keep them safe and protected.

If the weather is bad will you cover the floors to stop them getting wet or dirty?

We all know that removal day could be during a bad spell of weather .

If this turns out to be the case, then we will cover your floors with our carpet covers and blankets to stop them getting wet or dirty during the move.

How much notice will we need to give you in order to move?

Usually we would ask for a fortnight in advance of the day you want to move, but we understand that due to the nature of solicitors, this may not be possible.

As our diary can change from day to day due to this, quite often we can do removals at shorter notice. But even if not, we will always do our best to accommodate you.

Whatever your removal needs and even if they are last minute, please do get in touch and we will do all we can to help.

What are your payment terms?

Our payment terms are 30% deposit upon booking to secure your moving date.

The remaining balance is due in full on or before your moving date.

How can we pay you?

To help keep our costs down so we can pass these savings onto you, we unfortunately do not accept Credit Cards as payment.

We do though accept cash, cleared cheque, debit card and electronic payment.

Do you do a pack and move on the same day?

We can do this if it is a smaller job on the day.

If it is a larger removal job, we would do it the day before, or if a very large job, a couple of days before.

Can you move motorbikes?

Yes we can, and we can move cars too.

Do you carry transit blankets?

Yes we do. These are used to cover and protect your furniture from any knocks or bangs.

We also have mattress covers and sofa covers too.

How do we pack our bedding?

We would always recommend using strong bags like garden or rubble sacks or strong refuse bags. You can use vacuum pack bags too.

We have big, strong clear bags that you can use, as these help to see the contents clearly.

Let us know if you need these at the time of booking.

How do we prepare pictures and mirrors?

We would always recommend wrapping larger pictures and mirrors in good quality bubble wrap,  Or ‘export wrap’ and then securing with strong packing tape.

If there are smaller pictures these may fit nicely in boxes, where you can fit more of them in there.

You should still use bubble wrap between each picture to prevent scratches or damage.

We also have ‘picture’ bags which are designed to safely carry pictures and mirrors, usually with 8 compartments in each bag.

Do we need to empty drawers of their contents?

We would always recommend removing anything that can get damaged or cause damage in transit from any drawers and placing them in boxes.

If the items are soft, such as tea towels, then these will be fine to leave in the drawers.

How do we pack our hanging clothes?

We have garment carriers that we can loan to you if you are using us for your removals.

These will help to protect your clothes from damage or creases.

Do you offer any packing tips for moving house?

We most certainly do and have created a moving house checklist as well.

We also have some videos on our YouTube channel that show some of our packing tips.
